From friends to loves: Angela Bassett & Courtney Vance

 

Angela Bassett and her husband Courtney Vance have known each other for years. Angela told us that they met in the Yale school of Drama. They really didnt notice each other romantically until about 14 years later. She gushed and said "...he looks, better" when she noted after seeing him again.

 

Seven years ago this week Angela and Courtney were blessed with two twins by the gift of surrogate, she spoke about how they were a blessing and how they have no contact with the surrogate.

 

 

They seem to have a solid love and they are the prime example of Black Love.

STOP the madness....Beyonce speaks out.

 

By now you must have heard about Beyonce Lip singing the National Anthem at the Presidential Inarguration this month. SO many stars, haters and fans have had mixed opinions about this issue. I have seen people compare her to the Late Whitney Houston and talked about how terrible she sounded. Beyonce is Beyonce, she is her own woman with her own unique voice. In an interview at the Pepsi Super Bowl XLVII Halftime Show Press Conference she spoke about the performance conditions and why that was a very common solution within her field.

 

"Yes. I am a perfectionist. One thing about me is that I practice until my feet bleed. I did not have time to rehearse with the orchestra. It was a live television show. A very emotional show for me. One of my proudest moments. Due to the weather, due to the delay, due to no proper soundtrack, I did not feel comfortable taking a risk. It was about the president and the Inauguration and I wanted to make him proud so I decided to sing along to my pre-recorded track which is very common in the industry and I’m very proud of my performance" said Beyonce.

This song hit the radios last year in mid July. At first I did NOT care for it...at all. With Rihanna being on her "BadA*s" mood these days she is poping out hit after hit and I discovered this song was not an exception. The Carrie Diaries: My NEW television addiction

 

The Carrie Diaries has become my NEW television addiction! This show takes place in the 80's and serves as a prequel to The Sex and The City stories. The show starts off with informing us of Carrie's mother dying leaving her with her dad and her little sister Dora. She is greeted by her three best friends Jill (Mouse), Maggie and Walt (Maggie's boyfriend) her first day back doesn't seem too tragic. Then comes mega hottie Sebastian...isn't that name hot S.e.b.a.s.h.i.a.n, apparently they were former flames and by the looks of it he may want to reignite it.

As time goes on in the season starter, Carrie's dad thinks it may be a good idea to arrange a internship for Carrie, where you may ask...Manhattan, New York! With fashion and culture surrounding Carrie, its hard to keep your priorities straight...but Carrie seems to do it with effortless style. With Secrets, Boys, Fashion, and Dreams...looks like The Carrie Diaries will juicy enough to keep me tuning in week by week. I'll be watching, will you? Will Carrie be able to follow her dreams and remain a normal teenager? time will tell

The Bachelor: Ladies Falling, Charity work & a Guinness World Record

 

This weeks episode has been my favorite thus far. This week started off with Sean taking Ms.Leslie M. on an award winning date. Sean and Leslie went to the Guinness World record museum in Holywood and went for breaking "Longet on screen kiss" and DID IT!! Although it seemed REALLY awkward, it was a nice change from a traditional date.

 

 

The group date turned out to be a 6 on 6 competiton at the Beach of Volleyball. With a more intimate date on the line, the game got intense. At the more intimate date Kasey (from BEN'S season) revealed some things about some of the other females. Sean, being totally being put off quickly shut that down.

 

 

 

 

Ms. Tierra, being her old dramatic self took a spill down the stairs, "she was so hurt" until the ambulance arrived and she was aokaay and then when SEAN arrived she really lit up which was kinda messed up because Ashlee had been waiting all day for her Solo date. Once the drama was over Sean took Ashlee took her to Six Flags and revealed that their date would be shared by Two teenage girls battling a serious disease. This lightned Ashlee's heart which impressed.After sharing about her adoption past, Sean shed some tears and they shared a beautiful kiss. With their private band  Eli Young Band, they danced the night away.

 

 
At the cocktail hour, Sean feeling bad that Sarah didnt have a date arranged for her dog Leo to make a special aappearance.

 

At the rose ceremony he eliminated 2 women but the most surprising elimination was Kacie (from BEN'S season). He told her that he respected her too much to make her sit through another rose ceremony.

Ombre hair has become a beautiful trend in hair today. The greatest thing about this trend is that you get a pop of color without having to commit your whole head. This look can give you a sultry look that all the boys will adore!

How can I achieve this look?

Bleaching- All you do is section your hair off, prepare your bleach from the hair store with your choice of developer, mix the bleach and developer into a bowl until get a smooth consistency and then apply to hair and thats it! dont leave it on for too long or you may damage the hair
OR
Dye- Mix hair dye together as box saids and apply
remember since you arent "lifting the hair" this will only be a subtle change on your tips

28th Stellar Awards.....was 'Awesome'

 

This weekend on channel GMC the 28th Stellar Awards was shown. The Stellars, being held in Nashville, was hosted by Kirk Franklin and MaryMary. With Fabulous hair, funny jokes and gorgeous dresses the night was off to a good start. With Powerful performances from the greats like Shirley Casear to Tamela Mann. This year's Stellar awards was a night to remember! Star of the Night was Pastor Charles Jenkins who scooped up 5 Stellars plus closed the show out with mega gospel hit 'My God is Awesome'

Rev.Martin Luther King spoke"I have a dream that one day this nation will rise up and live out the true meaning of its creed: "We hold these truths to be self-evident: that all men are created equal."

 

This day is so picturesque I would swear it isnt real. Almost 50 years ago in 1963 a great man, Rev. Martin Luther King spoke a speech, with such style and boldness that it changed America. His words, actually meant something and today we celebrate him for his courage and heart. Then to have President Barack Obama inaugurated on this day with such meaning blows my mind! I encourage you guys to dream, and have dreams that can not only affect you but affect change and make someone's else's life have meaning as well.Thank you so much MLK and Godspeed Obama.

Color Me....YELLOW

 

The predictions of fashion this year are very bright....LITERALLY. This season has already started off bright, with Celebrities rocking bright yellow ranging from Jada Pinkett Smith to Glee star Lea Michele. When you know your body and how to compliment your skin tone with bright colors you will be able to rock anything! So tell me, what are your fashion predictions for 2013? I don't know what I would do without y'all I'mma ball 'til the day I fall...

 

Supposedly Lil Wayne is being put on the chopping block and is expected to produce a good album this time around. (Should'nt they always want to do that?) Anyways. Lil Wayne collabed with Drake and Future to put out a single called 'B-tches Love Me'. With the repeated hooks and bridges this song seems like it may be a hit. I mean come on, with Drake on it, how could it not be?

A Congrats is in order for RHOA Kandi Burruss and Todd Tucker on thier ENGAGEMENT! Yes, he liked it and he put a ring on it.The lovely couple got engaged on New Years. She was so excited as she talked to USweekly. Kandi being a grammy-winning songwriter, engaged once before to the late Ashley "A.J." Jewell, was "totally surprised" but "so excited." Being so happy she even shed a few happy tears as she talked to USweekly.

American Idol has BEGUN....You Ready?

Season 12 has officially begun with 3 NEW judges...Keith Urban, Mariah Carey and Ms.Nicki Minaj. Every year thousands upon thousands of people stand on their feet wanting, hoping and waiting for a chance to get a piece of the American Dream. With SO many laughs, and being blown off of my chair it looks like American Idol is off to a great start! I'll be watching...will you?

Oh Ms.Keys how you soothe my soul, to be honest I was a little skeptical about the 'New' Alicia. With her fresh new cut and changed wardrobe, I have to admit that I was nervous about it. I grew up with hits like 'Fallin' and 'Diary' I was like...who is this brand new Alicia? Thanks to my best friend who bought her whole new album and refused to play nothing but Alicia in the car, got me listening to her new stuff. There was one song that really stayed with me."Brand New Me" is an hit that talks about the evolution that you go through as a woman which I LOVE!

The winner of Love Games is AMY.

Yes, you read that right Amy is the winner of Love Games season 4. This competition started off with 14 guys and it came down to the final 2. Building an onscreen connection with Joey (Who got her name tattooed on him) we thought their connection was a lock until the finale. The San Diego date with Shane changed my mind thier cheminstry was undeniable with their date. However in the end she stuck with Joey and they won Love Games, together. Congrats Guys.

SPOILER ALERT: S3E15 "Mona-Mania"

 

I know for myself that I am still on edge about learning that Toby is a part of the A-team and Spencer has NO idea. This week everyone, as always, is going through something. Hanna is trying to find out what is going on with Lucas and ends up going postal on Mona meanwhile Spencer crams, so she can crush Mona in a competition. Emily is having problems with Paige because now she is so scared of everything knowing that A could lurking around every corner watching. The biggest story however comes from ARIA  now...wait for it, HER DAD is a new suspect. All of a sudden he is acting shady and somewhat violent so Meredith and Aria have teamed up to find what going on with him. Next week's preview was amazing, everything intensifies and Spencer supposedly finds out that Toby is on the A team! I cant wait.

Who will we discover next is on the A team?
